Looking to experience the best of Tanzania in just five days? This carefully curated luxury safari takes you through the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit — Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti. From vast savannahs to lush highlands, diverse birdlife to the legendary Big Five, every moment promises something unforgettable.
Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Savanna & Beyond representative and transferred to Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to relax and explore the “safari capital” of Tanzania. Nestled at the base of Mount Meru, Arusha offers a pleasant climate, vibrant culture, and views of coffee plantations stretching across the foothills.
Day 2 – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your safari adventure begins as you set off for Tarangire National Park. Known for its iconic baobab trees and large herds of elephants, Tarangire is a wildlife haven. During the dry season, animals gather around the Tarangire River, offering spectacular viewing opportunities. Bird lovers will also be delighted — with over 500 species, the skies are always alive with color and sound. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park before continuing your exploration.
Day 3 – Ngorongoro Crater & Serengeti
This morning you journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the world’s largest intact caldera. The Crater is a natural wonder, offering some of the best chances to spot the rare black rhino along with dense populations of lions, buffalo, and countless other species. After your game drive inside the Crater, you continue into the legendary Serengeti. As you enter its endless plains, you’ll soon understand why this park is considered one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries on Earth.
Day 4 – Serengeti to Karatu
The Serengeti is world-renowned for the Great Migration — the annual movement of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope in search of fresh grazing. Depending on the time of year, you may witness this natural spectacle. Beyond the migration, the Serengeti is also a predator’s realm, offering excellent opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs, and leopards. After an unforgettable morning game drive, you begin your journey back toward Karatu, taking in the beauty of the landscapes along the way.
Day 5 – Lake Manyara & Return to Arusha
Your final safari stop is Lake Manyara National Park, a compact gem famous for its tree-climbing lions and vast flocks of flamingos. The park lies beneath the dramatic backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, offering diverse habitats ranging from forests to open floodplains. Following your game drive and picnic lunch, you return to Arusha, where your adventure concludes with a transfer to the airport or your onward destination.
