Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Savanna & Beyond representative will greet you and transfer you to Arusha, the safari capital of northern Tanzania. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to relax and prepare for the journey ahead. Arusha is a bustling hub, nestled at the foot of Mount Meru, and offers a lively introduction to Tanzanian life.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its towering baobab trees and vast elephant herds, Tarangire offers a stunning introduction to Tanzania’s wilderness. The park is also home to over 500 bird species and a wide variety of wildlife including buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and predators such as lion and leopard. During the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only source of water, drawing animals from miles around. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed inside the park before continuing your game drive.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you head to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet biodiverse park set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Known for its tree-climbing lions and large elephant herds, the park also boasts flamingo-filled lakeshores and lush groundwater forests. With over 400 bird species and varied wildlife, Lake Manyara offers a unique mix of habitats in a small but spectacular setting.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

This morning you journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a chance to stop and take in the breathtaking views over Ngorongoro Crater before continuing on to the world-famous Serengeti. The Serengeti’s endless plains are home to incredible wildlife year-round, but it is most renowned for the Great Migration — the largest movement of animals on Earth. Wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in vast numbers, creating unforgettable safari moments.

Day 5 – Serengeti National Park

A full day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti. Early morning and late afternoon game drives reveal different sides of the ecosystem, from predators stalking the grasslands to grazers feeding across the plains. With its untouched landscapes and abundant wildlife, the Serengeti delivers one of the most authentic safari experiences in the world. Picnic lunches allow you to spend the entire day immersed in the wilderness if you choose.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater

Today you leave the Serengeti and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This ancient caldera shelters one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including wildebeest, zebra, hippo, and elephants. The crater is also one of the best places to spot the rare black rhino. Day 7 – Return to Arusha

After breakfast, you make your way back to Arusha. Depending on your onward travel plans, you will be transferred to Arusha Town, Arusha Airport, or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
