Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a Savanna & Beyond representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax, take a swim, or simply rest after your long journey. In the evening, your guide will provide a briefing on the adventure ahead before you enjoy your first night in Tanzania.

Day 2 – Cultural Experience in Mto wa Mbu

Today you explore the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu, a melting pot of more than 120 different tribes from across Tanzania. A guided walk introduces you to local life — bustling markets, banana plantations, and artisan workshops where you can learn about traditional crafts. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste local dishes and hear the stories behind them, making this a fun and interactive cultural day for the whole family.

Day 3 – Journey to the Serengeti

After breakfast, set off toward Serengeti National Park. Along the way, stop at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites, often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind.” After lunch en route, continue to the Serengeti, where sweeping savannahs dotted with acacia trees and roaming wildlife welcome you. An afternoon game drive introduces you to the park’s incredible variety of animals, from elephant and giraffe to lions and cheetahs.

Days 4 & 5 – Serengeti National Park

Spend two full days exploring the Serengeti — one of the world’s most iconic safari destinations. Morning and afternoon game drives maximize your chances of encountering the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Depending on the time of year, you may also witness part of the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move across the plains in search of fresh grazing.

The Serengeti is also home to fascinating smaller creatures and over 500 bird species, making each drive unique and exciting for the whole family. Between drives, enjoy time to relax before heading out again for more incredible wildlife encounters.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best wildlife-viewing areas in Africa. The crater floor is home to a remarkable density of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. With its lakes, grasslands, and acacia woodlands, the crater is a natural sanctuary where wildlife thrives. After your picnic lunch inside the crater, continue your exploration before heading to your lodge in the evening.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro to Arusha

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before driving back toward Arusha. Along the way, take in the scenic landscapes and rural life that define northern Tanzania. You’ll arrive in Arusha by the afternoon, where you can rest and reflect on your safari highlights.

Day 8 – Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a leisurely morning in Arusha before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey. As you say farewell, take with you cherished family memories of Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and culture.
